Freedom

December 11th, 2011

Freedom is the absence of internal or external obstacles towards the fulfillment of our highest possible needs or happiness.

Happiness is a state we experience when our needs are fulfilled and we do not feel the pressure or pain of an unfulfilled need. A need can be physical, material, emotional, social, mental or spiritual. We can be just as unhappy because our emotional or spiritual needs are not being fulfilled as we can when our physical needs are not being fulfilled.

Our needs may also concern what we want for others such as our family, friends, society, the environment and the planet.

Our needs can be satisfied by ourselves, by others or by the “Universe” God or “Life”. When our needs are not satisfied, we feel pain, hurt, unhappiness, injustice, bitterness, disillusionment, discouraged, betrayed, depressed, angry and even hateful and revengeful towards those we believe are obstructing us.

When our needs are satisfied, we feel happy, safe, grateful and loving towards those who help us.

“Freedom” is the ability to direct our energies without obstruction towards the fulfillment of all of the above-mentioned categories of needs.

We can divide the obstacles to freedom into external and internal. In the end, however, we will see that they are all internal because an external obstacle can limit our freedom only if we fear the consequences of ignoring those external pressures or threats such as what others think or losing our job. In reality our only obstacles to freedom, happiness and love are fear and guilt and of course our beliefs that we are not free.

There is no divine punishment

November 12th, 2011

We must not confuse, as we have for thousands of years, the opportunities offered by these tests that we have set up for ourselves with any type of punishment. There is no divine punishment. This is an illusion. How could a divine being of unconditional love, who asks us to love even our enemies, ever have negative feelings toward or punish his/her creations, which are actually projections of itself on the material plane? It doesn’t make any sense. The idea of punishment from God or the universe is an old, rather childish perception of the Divine that has lost its usefulness as we move forward to realizing and manifesting our own inner divine potential.

Those who, until now, have believed that we are weak and unworthy sinners may benefit from learning that the actual goal of Christianity, as expressed by the early church fathers, is “Theosis” or the process of becoming “God like”. By freeing ourselves from fear and guilt we bring forth our inner spiritual values such as love, peace, just action, truthfulness, non violence, selflessness, and caring for and serving others. These qualities manifest the “Image of God”, which is the potential within us all, as the “Likeness of God” in our lives; this is the basic step in “Theosis” – becoming like God while in a body.

It is essential that we free ourselves from the feeling that we live in a difficult, unfriendly and punishing universe. We now need to let go of these less evolved perceptions to realize that we, altogether (all souls incarnated and not), comprise the being we call God. We are expressions of Divine Consciousness in these temporary physical bodies. We are the creators of our personal reality, and co-creators of our social, national and planetary realities.

Loving Our Egos

October 14th, 2011

We are not our egos just as we are not our cars, computers, or any other machine that serves our needs. We do not want to reject or conflict with our egos. That will not be productive, just as it would no be useful to hate or conflict with our car or computer. We need to love and educate our egos.

The first step is to observe them, without judgment or negative feelings; watching and learning how they work. When do they become fearful, hurt or angry? Under what conditions do they become self-center and selfish? What do they fear that causes them to become indifferent or angry or hateful? What needs causes them to conflict with other egos? To which emotions have they become addicted and frequently seek to recreate? Which past experiences have they not yet overcome? To whom and what are they attached?

What are their hot buttons that cause them to either withdraw or lash out angrily? What do they reject about themselves? What do they feel the need to criticize in others? What do they fear most of all? When do they doubt themselves most? How do they seek to get approval from others? From whom do they need approval most? To whom have they given the power to accept or reject them?

Which are their strongest attachments? How do they measure their self-worth? With whom do they compare themselves and in relationship to what? When do they feel safe and when do they feel insecure? To which roles are they most attached? Where have they lost their objectivity? Where are they projecting their own subjective reality onto others and to life?

When do they react unreasonably because they fear that their freedom is in danger? Which habits have they developed that are harming them or others? Where are they resisting change and evolution?

What do they need in order to accept and love themselves? What do they need in order to feel secure?

These observations are to be done with total acceptance and without any rejection or criticism. We can imagine that we are observing our beloved child who has not yet become mature. We love this child. We want it to be happy and we are observing how it functions so that we can help it. And if we find that our child is unhappy or fighting with the other children, we will seek to help it mature.

The next step will be to educate and heal our egos. This process will require a spherical approach including observation, analysis, self-acceptance, energy psychology in order to get free from the effect of past experiences, the study of our true spiritual nature and the transcendence of the mind through meditation. These are the subject matter of self-knowledge seminars.

The first aspect of this work is to understand how our egos become identified with specific roles and then become lost in a web of attachments, fears and negative reactions.

Soul Choices

October 11th, 2011

As souls in the process of becoming more emotionally, mentally and spiritually mature and enlightened, we attract to ourselves situations that offer us the opportunity to learn the next lessons we need to learn in our evolutionary process. Of course, we have the free will to learn from these situations or not. We have the option of holding on to our pain, fear, guilt and anger, or we can let go of all that as we upgrade our perception of reality and move into forgiveness, self-acceptance, love and peace.

Some of the situations we are attracting are for the purpose of learning these lessons. We may not have done something in the past to warrant what is happening. We may have chosen as souls for this to happen because we can use that to let go of fear and old dysfunctional beliefs and move forward.

In such cases we are responsible not because we have harmed someone, but because we have chosen this as a growth process. In such a case we can ask forgiveness, or simply “free the other or the life situation” from the need to be that way any more, because we have learned the lesson that we are responsible and that we can love whomever or whatever it is. Having learned to love, we do not need the lesson anymore.

Freedom from what others think

October 3rd, 2011

Happiness also requires that we be free from anxiety about what others think about us and our lives. It means being free to be who we are in all situations.

We do not need to get free from others but rather from our own fears and attachments. Happiness is our destiny, because it is our true spiritual nature. That is why Christ emphasized that we need to become like children – free and innocent as children, free from programming and what others think. Free to be natural at all times.

As we move forward on our spiritual path, we will once again become like children, authentic and in the present. This, of course, must be distinguished from being reactive or rebelling. When we rebel, we are bound to not do what others want us to do or to do what they do not want us to do. That is not freedom. That is not spontaneity. That is being bound to being reactive and not inspirational. When we act from inspiration, we are free to do what we really want, regardless of whether others approve or not. We are not bound to doing what others want, nor are we bound to not doing what they want. We are free to be who we are and to do what really serves our happiness and growth.

“Testing times” require even greater awareness of the truth and of the present moment, so that we can be positive, using all that is happening as opportunities for our own self-knowledge and freedom from false beliefs.

Remember the difference between the pessimist and the optimist:
The pessimist sees the problem in every opportunity.
The optimist sees the opportunity in every problem.
Which do you choose to be?

Our holiness is the divine essence of our being

October 1st, 2011

Our holiness is the divine essence of our being – it who we are. There is only one divine essence and it is by nature omnipresent. Thus our holiness envelopes, embraces, penetrates, and becomes one with everyone and thing we encounter. A prerequisite for this is that we re-experience our innocence, state of grace and direct connection with Divine. In order to do so, we need to forgive everyone – including our selves. We need to let go of the idea that we are separate from God and that we are unworthy of God’s divine love, or the ridiculous idea that God has «psychological issues» and loves only with conditions.

Rather than experiencing that we are «created in God’s image and likeness», we have unfortunately created God in our own image. We have created in our minds an angry God who places many conditions on loving us. We actually believe that this immense divine being / consciousness that is creating at this moment uncountable universes, is so insecure as to not love us unless under extremely specific conditions. Thus our feelings of guilt and unworthiness eliminate our awareness of our natural holiness.

Experiencing our holiness, our divine goodness and allowing it to permeate our surroundings is a basic key to manifesting miracles. Thus when we meet an ill or upset person, we think my holiness permeates the being. When something is not working, we think, me holiness permeates that. This is the way in which we will create a new world, by blessing it with our holiness.

What is holy? We call holy that which is still pure and an expression high ideals, a «hole» in the material world that connects us to the divine. We refer to Holy places where we can have greater contact with the divine. Holy words do the same. Holy people inspire us to holy aspirations. Holy objects carry a vibration that enables us to higher experiences.
We in this sense are all «holes in matter» through which divine energy, ideas, values, peace and love flow into the physical realms. We are walking «temples of God». (You are the Temple of God and the God resides in you.)

Some fear that feeling holy might make them egotistical or make them feel higher than others. This is not a problem when we realize that all are equally holy in their essence, even when they are not in their expression. Recognizing others holiness is the also essential for manifesting healing and miracles.

OUR MINDS ARE PROGRAMMED BY THE PAST

September 30th, 2011

Our minds are programmed by a non-existent past and project that past into the present and future. We cannot see anything as it is. We construct every image based on past experiences, and especially the emotionally charged ones. When our mind perceives someone or something, it views that through many filters like «colored glasses» created in the past. These «colored glasses» cause us to perceive everyone and everything as various shades of the colors we have been programmed with. If we are wearing pink colored glasses, absolutely everyone and every thing is going to be some shade of pink. If we are wearing glasses that say. «I am unworthy and not one loves me», all people and events will reflect back to us some type of self-rejection.

Our predispositions and prejudices towards beings or objects depends on our experiences with that specific being, object or event. It is also affected by our experiences with the grouping into which we categorize what we are seeing ie. men, women, Christians, Moslems, Jews, Atheists, Americans, Russians, Turks, politicians, rich, poor, educated, uneducated, political affiliations, type of clothing, profession, age grouping, appearance. All of these affect our mental evaluation, In addition it will be affected by past life (in time and space) experiences with the specific and general. It will also be affected by our basic thought-forms about life itself such as, «life is dangerous and difficult» or «I am not unworthy and will fail or be rejected.», «No one cares about me or responds to my needs.» Thus we perceive what we are programmed by the past to see and seldom can see someone or something as it is – as we would see it for the first time.

This is especially true concerning people, behaviors and other stimuli which our mind associates with some form of danger. Our self-defense mechanisms are activated and we react automatically without being able to really see what is happening. We are being controlled by past associations and our automatic defense mechanisms.

Not only do we project onto people and situations motives and dangers that are not there, but we also attract what is emotionally charged for us. We tend to recreate the same types of situations as long as they are painful for us. Our mental processes interpret, project and repeatedly attract the same realities.

The key to freedom from this robot like behavior is to forgive ourselves and others for all the past. This becomes easy when we realize that there is actually no other and that we are wholly responsible for our reality and that no one has ever been the cause (but only the means) of our reality and we have never been the cause (but only the means) of their reality. Thus forgiveness is natural and easy. All who might have done something to me in the past are simply actors in the play I have chosen and written for my own awakening. The same goes for the others. In this way, we become free from bitterness, anger, guilt and fear.

We are now able to see more of what is, rather than what was.

Our need for self-justification

September 29th, 2011

The mind is in a continual process of self-justification as it seeks to be «right» and find all others wrong. Thus it avoids self-knowledge and the truth about what it feels and why it is upset. It prefers to express anger and argue in order to prove it is right rather than admit that it feels self-doubt, fear or guilt.

The ego cannot accept its weakness and mistakes. For this reason it seldom understands (except after many years of self-knowledge and study of the truth) that it is upset because of its own ignorance, fear, hurt, guilt and anger. It seeks to find others and the world to be at fault and fails to realize that all is divine and happening according to our mutual best interest.

Our minds are upset because they do not realize our divine nature and are identified with the body and mind and thus fear and become defensive.

When we are upset, we simply need to ask ourselves these simple questions, «What do I fear here? What is in danger for me here? My self-worth, security, freedom, control?» Answering these questions will bring us much closer to the truth concerning why we have lost our peace and love. Then we can proceed to remember our divine nature and return to feeling secure and peaceful.

We limit ourselves

September 27th, 2011

We limit ourselves with our beliefs, fears and attachments. Perhaps you know that they contain baby elephants by putting a chain around their feet and attach it to a metal spike. The baby elephant can not get free. When it grows up. it becomes so programmed that it cannot get free when there is something tied to his foot. They place a rope and wooden stake which the elephant could so easily remove by one pull of its leg. But it is programmed to believe by its past experience that it cannot.

We in the same way are programmed to believe that we are weak, unworthy, powerless and vulnerable. We then create a world based on those beliefs. We feel separate from God and unworthy of God’s love and Grace and we create an analogous reality.

Thus we can imagine the reality that we create by realizing that we are divine beings projecting our consciousness into these temporary bodies and that we are pure, innocent and loved without measure by God and all beings. We can perceive ourselves as safe, strong, able, worthy and as deserving all abundance on this and other planes.

We can also alter our perception of others, realizing that they too are divine beings and deserve our love and understanding as they are. They deserve our forgiveness just as we deserve theirs.

We can alter our perception of life, by realizing that life always gives us exactly what we need for our evolutionary process.

By trusting an perceiving the divinity in life, others and or selves, we will have created a new reality.

We are all connected

September 26th, 2011

We are all connected subconsciously through one collective unconscious and thus whatever we think or feel is directly deposited into a common subconscious field of thoughts, knowledge, paradigms, emotions and behaviours. Our every thought, emotion and choice affects every other being but even more so, those closely emotionally connected to us – including our pets and our computers and all of the atoms surrounding us.

We are also connected by a common Morphogenetic field and a universal causal body where we share all of our knowledge, fears, emotions, beliefs and tendencies.

When we react with alienation, competition, fear, guilt and anger, these qualities affect all others, increasing the possibility that they too will react in these ways. Every time we choose truth, caring, honesty, forgiveness, love and peace, we make these more available to all beings.

Our thoughts and emotions are received by others regardless as to whether we share them verbally or not. Everything we think and feel is known subconsciously to all others and they are affected by that.

Additionally, through the law of sympathetic vibration and the law of attraction, we find the world reflecting back to us our own inner states, whether we express them or not.

All others are experiencing the results of our thoughts. This is the basic principle behind the life style of Ho’oponopono, where we as forgiveness from anyone who seems to be reflecting back to us some aspect of our mind that needs correction.
